The Biodiversity Information Center (BIC) is a special library that houses special collection of print and non-print materials. Print materials include books, serials, project studies and Haribon’s published materials. Non-print materials are available such as audio recordings, posters, and video recordings in various formats.

Most of the collections are in the biological and physical sciences, agriculture, forestry, social sciences and development sector. It serves to meet information needs on environmental awareness beneficial to the organization, its members and the general public.

The Center offers Internet facility to widen greatly the accessibility of information. Web access is limited only to meet the researcher’s educational, informational, literacy and additional reading needs on subjects under research.

The Biodiversity Information Center is open to all registered members, partners, employees of Haribon Foundation and the public who are interested to conduct studies or researches on the environment and biodiversity conservation. Membership and use of the Library is conditional upon the observance of the regulations at all times.

Non-member visit fees (viewing only, no borrowing allowed):
P30 per use of collection and facilities.

Membership fees (borrowing allowed):
P300 per year = unlimited visits and use.
P500 = for schools, institutions and companies, allows two (2) authorized representatives.

Haribon members can avail of a discounted price for BIC Membership Fee or for each visit depending on their membership level:

  • Pipit member – 10% discount
  • Kibid member – 25 % discount
  • Kikiro, Balisara, Punalada, Kalaw – Free use of BIC resources and facilities

Library Hours: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm respectively. The library is closed during holidays.

Please note:

  • Maximum 5 days for borrowed books.
  • Maximum of 5 books borrowed at a time.
  • Lost or damaged books will incur payment for book replacement or book repair, plus P30 processing fee.
